LYTRO - behind-the-scenes.
Yesterday I posted some of the amazing new images we created with photographer Eric Cheng and the revolutionary LYTRO camera technology. If you haven’t seen and played with the images already, I invite you to scroll down and give them a try. Using much more conventional camera technology, James also created a little behind-the-scenes of this Conran family shoot (James was was the Art Director and his sister Rebecca was the Stylist!).
Please notice, even my niece, Faye, makes a cameo (she’s the tiny Chihuahua).

Here’s another picture in the series we created with the Lytro camera. In this picture, at the cross roads of Broadway and 5th avenue, I’m wearing a printed jumpsuit by Tucker paired up with my own head scarf and sunglasses.

This season, bold prints are not just for clothes. Here I’m pairing up a herring bone manicure with bright pink lips. This beauty shot is from the first EVER fashion shoot with the Lytro camera.

Three weeks ago I read an article on mashable.com about a revolutionary new camera called the LYTRO that requires no focusing whatsoever. In fact, believe it or not, all focusing can be done after the picture is taken. James and I, ever the early adopters, immediately reached out to the company producing the camera and said we would love to work with the prototype. To our excitement, the very next week Lytro was kind enough to send out photographer Eric Cheng with the camera and together with my sister-in-law Rebecca Conran as the stylist and James as Art Director we created our own little fashion shoot here in New York.
In fact, this is the first EVER fashion shoot with the Lytro camera.
OWLING VS. PLANKING
After 8 years of modeling I thought I had attempted most poses you can think of but tonight, for the first time ever, I present my addition to the “owling” phenomenom - Owling over NYC. Also today, behold my sister-in-law Rebecca Conran in an EPIC “planking” picture on top of a goal post.
For more information see the WASHINGTON POST?!
UPDATE 8/2/11: I guess someone else had the same idea. PLANKING editorial?

The other day I took my beautiful sister-in-law Rebecca along with me to the Harpers Bazaar “Fabulous At Any Age” party - there Styleite.com caught up with us to ask a few questions. Here’s an excerpt:
“(Glenda) Bailey also shares our royal wedding obsession, but isn’t so much concerned with who is designing Kate’s dress as much as what the dress itself will look like. Coco Rocha was a little less enthused about the royal nuptials, but as her sister-in-law (and date for the night) chided, “She just had an amazing wedding, I don’t how it’s going to beat it.” Well, we can’t argue with that — that video was gorgeous. Rocha did have strong thoughts about her timeless icon though: “Our legendary Elizabeth Taylor. I was obsessed with her. Until the end she was still looking fabulous in her gowns and her jewelry. I have never been starstruck by anyone, but if I ever met her I would have just been overwhelmed.”
Here’s the little video we made documenting my ever so talented (and beautiful) sister-in-law, Rebecca Conran over the course of 2 days as she transformed a warehouse full of random props at Film Biz Recycling into a series of amazing little vignettes. Also in this video: James carries a bunch of furniture back and forth and I dance around, as usual.

Film Biz Recycling
If you liked the decor of my apartment in Vogue (click) then you’ll love Film Biz Recycling. Its this great charity that take in abandoned movie props that would have ended up dumped in a landfill somewhere and recycles them back into use. James and I have found a lot of our favorite treasures there and we think its a must-go-to for anyone who’s looking for that unusual piece for their home.
Recently Film Biz moved from Queens to Brooklyn and into a giant space 5 times the former size! This last week my sister-in-law Rebecca Conran (she has a tumblr too!), who is an art director for movies and commercials, volunteered to arrange the huge inventory of random props into these amazing little vignettes all around the 10,000sq foot space. James and I helped moving everything and we actually filmed the transformation of piles of knick-nacks into these amazingly little scenes like from a movie - I’ll be posting that video just as soon as we’re done editing it.
Today is the opening party of the space from 4pm - 8pm. I think you should all get on the R train to Union Street and give Rebecca and Eva (the owner of FBR) a big pat on the back! You’ll probably come home with something you never knew you needed, let alone existed!
