Behind-the-Scenes - Elle Mexico June 2013

I posted the photos for this Elle editorial and cover shoot about 3 weeks ago, now heres the behind-the-scenes of me working on the art of slouching. Photographed by Santiago Ruisenor, styling by Natalie Joos, hair by Stefano Greco and makeup by Elisa Flowers.

ELLE MAGAZINE - Diesel

For Diesel’s latest fall “Fit Your Attitude” campaign the denim brand tapped five famous ladies to model the pants - Kasia Smutniak, Poppy Delevigne, Coco Rocha, Tali Lennox, and Theodora Richards - each represent five distinct attitudes associated with NYC. (See all the videos HERE)

Coco Rocha dons the skinny Getlegg style, which is affiliated with being brave and real.

ELLE: What does braveness mean to you?

Coco Rocha: Braveness, for me, is running into my basement with no socks on. There are huge spiders down there! On a more serious note, I think it is also very brave to tell someone you love them, and mean it.

ELLE: Describe your bravest look.

CR: Whenever I really get serious about something, I pull my hair back into a tight ponytail. If you see me with that, you know I mean business.

BEAUTY LOOKS - Elle Spain
September 2012

A few weeks ago I posted the four editorials I did for this month’s Elle Spain. Each one was a very different look - if you didn’t see them go HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. If you’re like me, you sometimes look at editorials and wonder how you can copy the master makeup artists and hair dressers at home. Well, Elle makes it easy by posting directions for achieving the same looks at home along with all the products you’ll need to do the trick!

The Uniform - Elle Spain, September 2012

My final editorial for this month’s Elle Spain offsets the other pretty and feminine editorials I did by showcasing the masculine side of jackets, coats and accessories for Fall/Winter 2012. Stay tuned for the beauty/ makeup looks from Elle Spain in an upcoming post.

LOLLAPALOOZA via JAMES  - August 3rd & 4th, 2012.

Last weekend James and I flew out to Chicago for Lollapalooza. While I was taking pictures and corresponding for Elle and Into The Gloss, James took pictures for me (teamwork!) and here they are:

  1. Our view of the lake from our hotel in Chicago.
  2. Favorite show of Friday, the amazing M83s.
  3. Sir, I mustache you a question!
  4. Staying cool in the shade at Lollapalooza.
  5. Shocked to find a tiny UFO in my hotel room the next morning.
  6. My look for day 2 of Lollapalooza. To see how I pulled it together, check out my blog for Into The Gloss.
  7. The phone that got me through the weekend - my new baby, the Samsung Galaxy S3!
  8. Mass evacuation on Saturday due to an impending thunderstorm. Rain and electronics do not mix. Also, notice Harrison Ford in the orange shirt?
  9. The storm really did come, and it was bad!

ARTISTS - Part 2.Three months ago I posted a Facebook archive in order to share all the amazing pieces of art I’m sent by people around the world. I have since updated that album with some amazing new pieces and in the image above you can see 4 of them. The first was inspired by a shoot I did with Greg Kadel, the second is taken from a backstage picture I took at a Rodarte show, the third is my most recent cover of British Elle and the fourth is inspired by my Arthur Elgort shoot for Vogue Nippon. To see a gallery of all the amazing artwork I’ve been sent over the years, please go HERE.

ELLE’S AROUND THE WORLD.Sometimes a shoot you did for one magazine will show up again in another magazine, in another country, a month or two later. I guess we models like that because it’s twice the exposure for half the work! Earlier this year I did a big shoot with Elle UK and contributed an article about Iman and Cindy Crawford, and so far I’ve spotted them in Elle UK, Belgium, Norway, Indonesia, Greece, Portugal and another yet unnamed country coming out soon!

To Southeast Asia, with love - Coco Rocha. Not many people know this, but I started my modeling career with a 2-month stint in Taipei at just 16 years old. Ever since my start in Asia, whenever I look at the statistics of who in the world is viewing my blog or videos, I’ve found I have an extremely loyal base of followers in Southeast Asia - there’s always a disproportionately large percentage of views coming from countries like Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.I’m very happy to announce not one but TWO covers in the region this month with Elle Indonesia. As you might recognize, it’s based on my Elle UK editorial last month. I’ve always received such a warm outpouring of love from my friends in this corner of the world. Thank you for being so loyal to me these last seven years - it has been quite a ride!
