Time for another weekly installment of #SUNDAYSTORIES!

During a casting early in my career, I went to go see the House of Dior in Paris. As I entered the room there was a row of people that sat behind a long table, I handed them my book and then showed them my walk. Everything seemed to go OK, and on my way out I noticed what I could only describe as this debonair looking pirate sitting in the corner of the room by the door, he was smirking at me and had his arms crossed. I looked back around the room as if to say “Am I the only one who see’s this full on pirate here?!”. I was so enamoured with this man’s look that I called my mom back in Canada right after and said, “So… there was this pirate at Dior, and I can’t believe how fabulous he looked”. To cut a long story short, I got the job and it was only at the Dior show that I realized, the pirate was John Galliano himself. This would be my first of many shows with Galliano, a man who constantly reinvents his look in the most fantastic way. He recently became the creative director for Maison Margiela and I’m so excited to see how he reinvents fashion and himself yet again.
Sometimes I can’t believe some of my own early modeling experience. Keep an eye on my blog for weekly #SUNDAYSTORIES!

Another day, another Flare magazine post. What can I say? They kept me pretty busy as guest editor! I’m pretty pumped about this project. This was my first time art directing an editorial, and it was an amazing experience. As you’ll see in this behind-the-scenes video, I got to cast the models, help with the wardrobe, and work with my friend and favorite makeup artist Veronica Chu.

If you can’t tell, I’m pretty excited about my guest editoriship of this months Flare magazine. Last week I shared the cover and the editorial I had the privilege of art directing, and now I’m including some behind-the-scenes footage of my shoot at the Dream hotel in New York. Welcome to Hotel Coco… xx

L’Officiel Italia - September 2014

I’m a little late on this but I wanted to share with you my editorial for the September issue of L’Officiel because its one of my favorites of the season. I love the drama and theatrics of this shoot, and worth noting is that most of the special effects were done on set - not in post production. plus, how cool is that film strip collage of poses?! There are more where that came from in my new book the Study of Pose, coming out in October but available for (super discounted) pre-sale right HERE!
